Walking tour with Harlem Heritage Tours owner/guide and native Harlemite, Neal Shoemaker.


■ Visit Muhammad Mosque No. 7 where Malcolm preached. Meet with local Muslim leader.

■ Travel the street corners where Malcolm gave speeches, including on the sidewalk outside the Black owned Michaux’s Bookshop.

■ Swing by Braddock Grill, featured in The Autobiography of Malcolm X as a place where Malcolm worked and first learned about the community before he became a Muslim. 

■ Stop by the Apollo Theatre where we will learn about the link between Black musical culture and Malcolm’s vision of a community.
